INTRODUCING TORIRU - "KEEP YOUR WAVE ALIVE"

Introducing Toriru clothing, scrolling through Instagram I'm always discovering the coolest independent fashion brands that deserve way more recognition than they already get. I think it's so important for young creatives to be noticed and showcase their creativity and talents to the world. We see the birth of new fashion brands often, however for young designers the market is extremely tough and I really think it's time for young creatives to get noticed. Unless you know someone in industry or have a large following, it is really hard for you to get noticed these days, it does kind of suck. There's so much talent out there that deserves to be seen.

I recently came across Toriru clothing and first glance I loved what I saw, no hesitation I hit that follow button! I was feeling major Japanese vibes with their bold prints and striking colours. Intuiged about the brand, I came to find out the person behind it all is 22 year old Terrance Lindsey From Kansas City, find out more and check out the interview with the man himself!

VogueWonders: Who are you and what do you do?

Terry: My name is Terry, i’m 22 years old and i’m from Kansas City , MO and the CEO of Toriru clothing brand.

VogueWonders: ow did you start your brand Toriru , what was the inspiration behind it ?

Terry: When I was 18 I started off cutting jeans , tie dying shirts and sewing. When I was 19 I decided I wanted to start my own clothing brand but financially wise I couldn't start it but deep down I wanted bring a different style to my city. When I was 20 I was more inspired by the top urban clothing brands and that inspired me to fulfill my dream of having my own clothing brand.

VogueWonders: Why did you choose to start up a fashion brand?

Terry: Because it was always my dream to have my own clothing brand.

VogueWonders: why do you think it's important for young designers like yourself to build new brands like this?

Terry: Because I think every generation has its own style and it’s up to our generation to bring a new wave .

VogueWonders: How has social media worked for you ?

Terry: Social media really helped my brand out as far as reaching new cities and clients. As well as a couple of upcoming celebrities collabs and supporters.

VogueWonders: What do you want to change in the current fashion market?

Terry: want to change the look and also the feel of fashion. I want to bring something that’s dope , lit and different . Something the people will love.

VogueWonders: What makes Toriru different from other brands out there ?

Terry: My name alone is different from other brands , my style is different and not to many people do anti mays.

VogueWonders: How did you come up with the name Toriru?

Terry: he name Toriru is Trill in Japanese. A Lot of people in my city and on social media knew me as Trill so me and my homeboy Casper took the time to do research and discovered Toriou.

VogueWonders: Do you classify yourself as a fashion designer?

Terry: Yes and No . Yes because I can come up with my own twist and style of things when a client wants something different than I already released. No because I try to stick to the basic releases.

VogueWonders: Are there any fashion brands you would like to collaborate with ?

Terry: Yes , I actually have a couple collabs here in Kansas City with YungLife, Brwssaddicition and a few more. I do want to do multiple celebrity collabs with FOG ( Fear Of God) , OBEY , Thrasher and last but not least Supreme. Pretty much the clothing brands that motivate me and molded my brand into the brand it is today .

VogueWonders: Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years to come ?

Terry: see myself in the next 3 years worldwide and still doing what I love which is making my brand better each day.

VogueWonders: Is it any advice you’d give to young people right now trying to start a fashion brand?

Terry: You are your biggest supporter , if you don’t believe in yourself your brand won’t grow. Keep grinding and keep pushing until you get to the top .

I am Terry CEO of Toriru clothing brand and this concludes my interview with Vogue Wonders . And always remember keep your wave alive .

Oversized fits are my favourite, as far as wearing fitted clothes goes ... skinny jeans is the closet I get!

I recently fell in love with Pull & Bear, although I'd heard of them before I never really checked them out properly! Scrolling through their site, this sweatshirt caught my eye, it's so quirky and the quote on the back keeps me motivated, I love it.

Also from Pull & Bear was the white pumps with a caramel sole, I've been after a pair of shoes like these, they're such a comfortable fit! I decided to pair this with trousers from New Look Men's. These are such a such good quality, just at £10, my size and the last on the sale rack. Lucky me!

You can shop my look below, hope you enjoy!

SO RAD

More collaborations, new locations. While the sun was out, walking around Nottingham with Alicia, we visited Cobden Chambers. With the coolest backdrops, this was the perfect location to shoot for the outfit I was wearing.

I was overwhelmed when I was contacted by Rad, them asking to me to be a blogger ambassador, they also kindly sent me one of the coolest Bowie shirts!

I paired the shirt with a custom distressed denim jacket from 'Just Another Lost Child' by 'Arthur Tumbare. JALC was found in 2014.

I live in a day and age where everything can change because of a click of a button. The internet controls our generation and slowly controlling and changing fashion.
Fashion in relation with the internet is now giving the lost and misunderstood children of our generation the chance to change the world and lives of millions.
— Arthur Tumbare

I finished the look with  black skinny jeans and DR martens, customizing with a leather clutch from Topshop and sunnies from River Island.

BE BAULLA

Hey guys! As you know I love hearing of new brands and featuring them on the blog. I was recently contacted by Baulla Apparel who have launched early this year.

Baulla is a British fashion brand that produces good quality garments and accessories; it is definitely making its mark in street wear with their unique designs and great quality of material.

The brand kindly sent me two of their caps, I’m never usually one to wear caps however Baulla caps fit in with my look perfectly, you can’t go wrong, it's the perfect summer accessory for your wardrobe!

Currently on the site shows a range of snapbacks and caps to choose from, Baulla are also looking to branch out in t-shirts, a new range of snapbacks and more!  The brands message is very simple, on the website quotes

Baulla is also a state of mind. A Baulla is someone who likes to clearly lay down his or her own sense of style, so why follow fashion, when you can create it yourself? Be different. Be a Baulla
